New Games Hall, Liberton High School
- Customer: City of Edinburgh Council
- Architect: City of Edinburgh Council
- Value: £2,170,000
A project of massive local and national interest managed with appropriate Ashwood low key PR sensitivity and with no HS&E accidents, incidents or near misses while the adjacent school remained live, occupied and uninterrupted.

Our new build extension and major refurbishment works provided a new Gym, Dance Studio, Fitness Suite, changing/shower facilities and Classroom. Feature elements included reinforced concrete suspended floors (sloping site); facing brick; coloured acrylic render; laminate rain screen cladding; aluminium curtain walling; Dance Studio feature sprung timber floor; under-floor and VRF unit heating; bike track and a Memorial Feature Garden.

We reinforced the message that empathetic and diplomatic handling of sensitive Customer Care issues is critical and that meticulous Health & Safety focus can be the most important KPI achieved – all with controlled but unobtrusive management focus and immaculate behaviour.
We hosted a ‘coffee-break’ ten-minute daily meeting to liaise on future events and any arising User issues, receiving the Head Teacher’s very positive mention of our works and approach at the School Prize-Giving Ceremony.
